Pronouns: He/Him, They/Them

TL;DR: I like to combine art and programming to make stuff.

Growing up, I was equally interested in doodling cartoons on every blank surface I could find as well as dismantling every electronic gadget that my parents allowed me to. After considering both art and engineering for my undergraduate studies, I finally went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. I started working at Microsoft as a software engineer on Windows right after my undergraduate studies in 2015. Iā€™m currently working on Windows Containers R&D while pursuing my Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts part-time from DigiPen Institute of Technology.

Throughout my years in software, I never lost my passion for art; I took every opportunity to practice it. In 2020, I started volunteering on indie game teams and trying my hand at different roles like concept art, environment art, and level creation. Having discovered how procedural assets are generated, I realized I could combine my engineering knowledge with my art which unlocked a new realm of possibilities. I decided that a career in technical art would be perfect for me!

Video games have had a significant impact on my life as they played a key part in providing me with the media representation I lacked elsewhere. I still remember the immense sense of acceptance I felt while playing Dragon Age Inquisition when I met Krem, a transgender male character with South Asian influences. I cannot wait to be part of the game industry and create similar works of art that positively impact lives worldwide, encouraging people to pursue their dreams and live their best lives.
